FB VI

 

The FB VI was a Fighter Bomber version built in Great Britain.

Powerplants: Rolls Royce Merlin 21,22,23 or 25

Number built:  2,289

38 a/c were delivered to the RAAF in Australia and were mainly operated by No 1 Squadron.

Extant:

No Australian operated FB VI remains.

HR621 (Operated by 618 Squadron RAF). Under restoration Camden Museum of Aviation.

T III

 

The T III was a Trainer based on the Mk II.

Extant:  No Australian T III remain but TV959 is under restoration at AvSpecs in New Zealand and TW117 is on display at the Air Force Museum Bodo Norway.

F II

 

The F II was a Fighter version built in Great Britain.

Powerplants: Rolls Royce Merlin 21, 22 or 23

Number built:  494

One a/c A52-1001 (ex DD664) was operated by the RAAF for a short time in Australia.

Extant:  This aircraft was converted to components 1946.

PR XVI

 

The PR XVI was a photo reconnaissance version of the B XVI.

Powerplants: Rolls Royce Merlin 76/77 or 72/73. All RAAF PRXVI were fitted with Merlin 76/77 engines.

23  a/c were delivered to the RAAF in Australia and were mainly operated by No 87  Squadron.

Extant:  A52-600 RAAF Museum Point Cook Australia (under restoration.)
